Join us at Battle Point Observatory Saturday, December 13th at 6 pm for another riveting Second Saturday Science Talk!
"Seasons on Earth and Other Planets"
Presenter: Erin Leigh Howard, Rubin scientist & BPAA Education Director
Winter is coming! December 21st, the winter solstice (and the day after our big fundraiser), marks the start of winter and the shortest day of the year. Once we get past that, our days will be getting brighter…but why? What is the science behind the seasons, and what are seasons like on other planets? Join Erin on a journey through the solar system to discover what causes the seasons on every planet, including our own!
After the talk, stick around for a planetarium show and, if the weather holds, a Star Party. Whether you're a seasoned stargazer or just beginning to look up, there's something for everyone. All experience levels welcome.
Registration required, open to the community and to BPAA Members.
Limited to 30 people, sign up now!
Free Admission, $10 suggested donation but any amount appreciated
